The Donegal Dublin Business Network is welcoming the Government’s pledge of €600 million towards the development of the A5 Derry to Aughnacloy Northwest Transport Corridor.

The DDBN said it hopes the Lifford to Manorcunningham phase of the Ten T project will happen in tandem with the A5, to complete this strategic access into the heart of County Donegal.

Garrett Harte, Chair of the Donegal Dublin Business Network, emphasised the pivotal role this funding commitment has to further unlock the economic potential of the county and the North West.

“The allocation of €600 million towards the A5 Derry to Aughnacloy Northwest Transport Corridor, alongside the support for the Donegal Ten T Projects, signals a resounding vote of confidence in the future prosperity of our region. Progressing delivery of the A5 has been a key priority for the DDBN with the behind the scenes work of network members Paul Doyle and Sally Anne Sherry.

“Minister Paschal Donohoe confirmed the proposed upgrades to the A5 route ranked among the government’s key priorities when he spoke at a DDBN event last September,” stated Harte.

The DDBN looks forward to continued collaboration with government stakeholders and local partners to realise the full potential of these infrastructure investments, to assist a sustained economic growth and prosperity across the North West region.
