Kilcar community activist Linda Boyle has been selected as the third Sinn Féin candidate to contest the local election in the Donegal Municipal District.

Sitting councillors Cllr Noel Jordan and Cllr Michael McMahon were selected to run again at the Donegal Town convention.

Speaking at the recent Kilcar event, Deputy Pearse Doherty said: “I am delighted that Linda Boyle will be the Sinn Féin representative for this area. Linda was born and raised in Kilcar – she is rooted in this community.

“Her commitment to this community and passion for the area has been clear before she ever made the decision to step forward and contest this election.

“Over so many years, Linda has been involved in community projects, serving this area on a voluntary basis because she cares so much about it, its people, and its future.

“She currently sits on local sporting and tourism committees, doing her utmost to improve the services, opportunities and economic life of the place she loves.

“I have no doubt that Linda will be an outstanding Councillor for this community and the Donegal LEA.”

“Noel and Michael have both worked tirelessly for this community as local councillors,” Deputy Doherty said.

“Noel has, in the past ten years, worked hard across so many sectors to source funds and deliver infrastructure in this community.

“Michael has been a strong campaigner on so many issues such as housing provision and health care.

“Both Michael and Noel have represented this area and community with distinction, and I am delighted that they will be seeking re-election.”
