It was a taxing time for this van owner after he was stopped by Gardaí from the Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit.

Using the Active Mobility App, officers discovered the vehicle had not been taxed in 1,100 days (3 years).

The vehicle had not undergone the NCT test during that time either.

The van was seized after it was inspected.

The van driver was also arrested after tested positive for cocaine at the scene.

The driver is expected to appear before a future sitting of the courts.

A spokesperson for the Gardai said “Never drive while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. Ensure that your documents are up to date/in order before taking to the roads.”
