The community spirit of Atlantic Technological University (ATU) Donegal can make the academic journey memorable and fun – that’s according to second year student Livia Quicoli.

Livia, from Dungloe, was one of the first cohort of students on a new Cyberpsychology degree which opened in 2022. This one-of-a-kind honours degree programme examines human behaviour in the online and digital world.

Not only is the degree innovative and forward-thinking, Livia has been enjoying a fun and engaging learning environment.

“What I am enjoying the most about studying at ATU is the closeness and relationship that you get with lecturers and staff,” Livia says.

“ATU Donegal has such a fun environment where studying can be fun.”

Beyond the classrooms, Livia finds the library an invaluable resource. ” It has such a massive variety of books and academic papers,” she shares. “Also, ATU Donegal’s library has study rooms where students are able to book the room and do group projects which I think it’s so useful. “

The ATU Donegal Open Day takes place this weekend on Saturday, 2nd of March on the Letterkenny campus. From 10am – 1pm ATU Donegal invite you to explore your university options for 2024.

Livia strongly recommends attending ATU Donegal’s Open Days if you are considering your third-level options. These events provide an opportunity to interact with lecturers, meet potential classmates, and discover new courses.

“You have complete access to lecturers and students that are already in the course that you want to do, and to just being able to ask them questions makes a lot of difference when choosing which course you should do,” she emphasises. This firsthand experience can be crucial in making informed decisions about your academic path.

Livia offers more valuable advice for prospective students. “Don’t hesitate to call or send an email if you still have questions,” she encourages.

Additionally, she urges students to actively participate in the university’s societies, clubs, and programs, like the Student Ambassador Program, to enhance their overall experience.

If you’re seeking a university that is close to home, offering vibrant campus life and diverse course offerings, visit this Saturday’s Open Day from 10am-1pm to explore your future at ATU Donegal.

If you are a Leaving Certificate student, the parent of a Leaving Certificate student, or considering returning to education or upskilling in 2024, the ATU Donegal Open Day is for you.

Come along and find out about all programme offerings, meet with academic staff and enjoy a guided campus tour.

A range of talks will be delivered on the day, from advice on choosing the right career path/programme for you to financing your third level journey.
