Gardaí are urging motorists to never take risks on the roads, after an uninsured driver and a drug driver were caught in Letterkenny last night.

In the first incident, gardaí on patrol observed a driver failing to stop at a red traffic light. Upon stopping the vehicle, it was discovered that the driver lacked valid car insurance. As a result, the vehicle was seized, and the driver will be facing court proceedings at a later date.

In a separate incident, a driver stopped by the Roads Policing Unit tested positive for cannabis. The individual was arrested, and a blood sample was taken for further analysis.

Gardaí took to Facebook with this plea: “Help save lives by making responsible decisions where road safety is concerned. Never take risks on the roads.”
