Gardaí in Donegal are urging the public to be alert in relation to the latest scam texts.
They have received a number of reports of scam text messages regarding garda ‘fines’ being sent to people.
“Please do not click the link and never enter any personal or banking details,” a garda spokesperson said.
“An Garda Síochána does not send texts or WhatsApp messages of this nature. Please inform your elderly/vulnerable family or neighbours and advise them not to engage with suspicious calls or text messages.”
