A student from Dunfanaghy has won a prestigious award for her Irish skills.

Aisling McFadden, a student at PCC Falcarragh, collected her award at the University of Galway earlier this week.

It’s after she received an outstanding result in her T1 Irish exam as part of her Junior Cert – the T1 being a special Irish exam given to students in Gaeltacht areas.

Aisling was one of only a few students nationwide to receive top grades.

She collected the award in Galway earlier this week, accompanied by her Irish teacher Ramona Uí Scanláin.
