Sometimes in County Donegal it feels like it never stops raining – but it turns out that was the case last month.

Met Éireann say that their weather station at Malin Head recorded rainfall every single day in February, the only place in Ireland to do so.

Malin also recorded the highest mean wind speed in Ireland last month, averaging winds of 31.3 km/h – and the highest gust recorded in Ireland last month, with winds of 106 km/h recorded there on the 29th of February.

However it wasn’t all bad weather in the county – the weather station at Finner recorded the lowest percentage of expected monthly rainfall nationwide, at just 87%.
