The owners of Kelly’s Kitchen Restaurant at Slieve League Lodge have announced they are to close due to surging business costs.

The Carrick restaurant will be ending services on April 1st, 2024, while Hegarty’s bar will remain open.

Owner Ann Marie Mc Nelis made the difficult announcement citing rising costs of produce, electricity, gas, rates, and other operational expenses. “The list goes on”, she said.

The good news for Kelly’s Kitchen fans is that this is not the end of the story. Ann Marie has revealed that a cafe in Glencolmcille will be opening in the coming months, and the outside catering service will continue to operate.

Ann Marie has expressed her sincere gratitude to her 40+ staff who worked for her over the years, thanking them for their dedication and hard work since March 2019.

“Every one of you were absolutely brilliant and to wish you all the very best for the future,” she said.

“A huge thank you to Noel & Anna for approaching myself and John and giving us the opportunity we had some challenges along the way but mostly good days, good fun and happy times.

“To Paul and the staff at the Sliabh League Lodge thank you all you were a great help and support during the years. Also to Mandy, family and friends for your support encouragement and friendship thank you…”

“Again thank you to everyone.”

Customers are advised that vouchers can be redeemed before 1st April or used towards outside catering.

Last week, the owners of An Bonnán Buí in Rathmullan called time on the bistro. February also saw the closure of the Corcreggan Gourmet Fish & Chips street food shack outside Dunfanaghy.
