A new online tracker showcases the progress of Letterkenny’s urban development projects.

The regeneration of Letterkenny town centre is supported by €16.6m Urban Redevelopment funding and involves the Linear Park scheme, a re-imagined Market Square, a Cathedral Quarter Park and the Revival of the Old Courthouse.

Under Letterkenny 2040, the Cathedral Quarter Park subproject has been allocated €7.45m to make a cultural and creative district within a revitalised and accessible Church Lane, a Creative Design Hub Building together with 2 acres of green urban parkland, and a repurposed vacant building as a tourist office.

The public can now see detailed information, imagery and updates on https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/98a739a585944cf887f2dffe54c4f129/

The tracker is set to be updated regularly with insights into the proposals: Letterkenny 2040 (Public Realm & Strategic Land Acquisition) and Letterkenny 2040 Phase 1: Re-Energise and Connect the Historic Town Centre.

This tool has been created to allow stakeholders, residents, and interested individuals to stay informed about the ongoing developments in their area.

The URDF is the flagship €2 billion investment programme of Project Ireland 2040, established to support National Planning Framework objectives through the sustainable regeneration and rejuvenation of Ireland’s five cities and large towns.

URDF supported projects are now active in every local authority area across every local authority.
