Gardaí are investigating a “deeply traumatic incident” at a house in St. Johnston last night.

Shortly after midnight, an individual approached a home in the Tullyowen area and proceeded to smash both the kitchen and bedroom windows.

The occupants of the house were in bed at the time and the perpetrator(s) did not gain entry.

“Thankfully nobody was hurt and access was not gained to the house,” a garda spokesperson said.

“This was a deeply traumatic incident for the residents of the house and we are anxious to progress our investigation into the matter.”

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have been traveling in the Tullyowen area during the early hours of March 12th and witnessed any suspicious activity, vehicles, or individuals to come forward. Additionally, they request that anyone with dash cam footage from the area between midnight and 1:00 am to contact them.

Information can be provided to Gardaí in Letterkenny by calling 074-9167100. Reports can also be made anonymously on the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111.
