Donegal’s senior men’s hurlers secured their place in the new-look National Hurling League Division 2 next year with a confident win over London this afternoon.
What started as a tight contest in Letterkenny this afternoon opened up in the middle of the first half, Gerry Gilmore firing over a number of frees leaving him with 6 points in the first half, and Donegal up 0-14 to 0-08 at the break.
Mickey McCann’s men kept their foot on the throttle in the second half, aided by a sending off for London’s Pauric Mullen.
Goals from Donegal’s Oisin Grant and Liam Mc Kinney helped seal a fine win, and second place in Division 2B.
Donegal’s hurlers now enter the semi finals of Division 2B, as they look to claim the title before the launch of a reformatted Division 2 next year.
