Investigation continues into pedestrian death in Letterkenny

Gardaí have issued a fresh appeal for information after a Letterkenny man was fatally injured in a collision last week.

Pedestrian Ciarán Mc Art, aged in his 30s, died after being struck by a lorry at Magherennan, on the Letterkenny-Ramelton road before 6am last Friday morning.

The much-loved son of Adrian and Karen Mc Art, Ciarán was laid to rest on Sunday.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward. 

A spokesperson said: “Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and who were travelling on the R245 at Magheranan in Letterkenny between the hours of 5am and 6am that morning are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Letterkenny Garda station on 074 916 7100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.”
