Revenue officers seized almost €350,000 worth of contraband cannabis products this week, some of which were to be delivered to Donegal.
The haul of drugs was discovered during customs checks in several locations across the country.
A total of 9.3 kgs of herbal cannabis, 72.7gs of cannabis resin, 1.8 kgs of cannabis edibles and 5.1 kg of mitragynine were seized during checks in Dublin, with a combined estimated street value of over €319,000 according to Revenue.
The drugs were concealed in parcels pertaining to contain items of clothing and other wares, originating from destinations as far and wide as the Netherlands and Indonesia.
Smaller finds in Athlone and at Shannon Airport contained cannabis worth a combined total of over €20,000.
Some of the parcels were destined for Donegal, with others planned to go to Cork, Dublin, Kildare, Limerick and Wexford.
