Some local heroes of West Donegal will be appearing in a new TV series about the wonderful work of carers.
Cúramóirí, which begins on TG4 on Tuesday 2nd April, delves into the heart of Irish society, showcasing the intricate tapestry of care provided by family carers, professional carers, and dedicated organisations.
Among the unsung heroes tp be featured is Eileen Uí Churráin from Ionad Lae Ghaoth Dobhair.
The second episode of the series showcases the valuable services offered by Ionad Lae, which is open to provide companionship, food and engaging activities to the elderly in order to ensure that no individual feels isolated or disconnected from their community.

Under the guidance of Eileen Uí Churraín and her dedicated team, the centre is committed to helping individuals recognise their worth, feel connected to their community and never feel alone.
In the third episode of the series, Cúramóirí looks at the incredible fundraising efforts of the Gweedore community last September for young local boy Oisín Campbell. Oisín, who needs 24-hour care, benefitted from funds raised through a 24 hour cycle by Hughie Phaidí Dubh Ó Gallachoir, a “shave and swim”, which saw local priest Fr Brian O’Fearraigh shave his famous locks, and a dip by Na Selkies.

Through the lens of Cúramóirí we witness the challenges faced by carers and those in their care, but also the resilience, bravery, and unyielding love that blossoms in these relationships.
Tune in to celebrate the unsung heroes of modern society in an exploration of compassion, strength, and the power of human connection. These are personal stories from the heart told with honesty and conviction.
Cúramóirí starts Tuesday April 2nd @ 7:30pm on TG4
