Donegal Community Inclusion Training Services (DCITS) celebrated a momentous occasion earlier this month as 79 learners proudly received their QQI certificates.
The award ceremony was the largest yet, with Lee Gooch of Highland Radio handing out the awards at the Clanree Hotel.
The 79 learners, with service supports as required, undertook their learning journeys and have now received their awards from the national awarding body known as Quality & Qualifications Ireland (QQI).
Through the learning journey participants gained experience of learning for example in Leading Healthy Lifestyles, Personal Care Practice and Independent Living skills, to name but a few of the QQI Certificates issued to DCITS learners.

These qualifications are recognised and valued nationally and internationally and for many of the learners it is but a step in their onward journey to further qualifications and increasing options for employment. For others it’s the self-satisfaction of having reached their qualification goal.
One of the learners, Liam Wheeldon, commented on his learning journey stating “I enjoyed the Literacy and Numeracy Course as it helped me increase the type of material I may have struggled reading previously and me gave more confidence when reading community signage”.
