Republican Sinn Féin to hold Drumboe Easter Sunday ceremony

On this coming Easter Sunday, Republicans will gather all over Ireland to remember the men and women of every generation who have given their lives in the struggle for Irish freedom.

The Drumboe Martyrs Committee, Donegal,will hold its Annual Commemoration in Stranorlar, assembling at the old Fire Station at McCool Terrace, Main Street, Stranorlar at 2.15pm. 

This years main speaker will be Ciaran Dolan, Member of the Ard Comhairle of Sinn Féin Poblachtach (Republican Sinn Féin). Ciaran has been a member of the Republican Movement since he was 10 years old and hails from Westmeath.

The Chairperson of the Drumboe Martyrs Commemoration Committee,Mary Ward of Burtonport, on behalf of the committee extends a warm invitation to all who wish to attend on Sunday to commemorate all those men and women who died in defence of an All-Ireland democracy.

A wreath will be laid at the execution site at Drumboe Woods in remembrance of the four men who were executed there 101 years ago (Dan Enright, Timothy O’Sullivan, Charlie Daly and Sean Larkin).

Local ceremonies will take place over the Easter weekend at graveyards throughout Donegal, Tyrone and Derry,(Conwal Cemetery Letterkenny, Murlough Lifford, Clady Bridge, Donnyloop, Strabane and Melmount Cemeteries taking place on Easter Saturday).

Sinn Féin Poblachtach (Republican Sinn Féin) Derry will hold its Annual Commemoration in the City Cemetery at 12pm on Easter Sunday.

The Committee extends a warm invitation to all who wish to attend on Sunday 31st March 2024 to commemorate all those men and women who died in defence of an all-Ireland democracy.
