A woman in her 30s has died following a fatal road traffic accident overnight.
The two-car collision took place at Kilsheelan on the N24 road in County Tipperary at approximately 10pm last night.
The woman, a passenger in one of the cars, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her body was removed to Waterford University Hospital, where a post mortem will take place in due course.
Both drivers and two passengers in the second vehicle were all taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
A total of 56 people have now been killed on the country’s roads so far this year.
