Tragic mum Una and daughters to be laid to rest in Donegal

A mum and her two daughters who were tragically killed in a road traffic accident earlier this week will be laid to rest in Donegal

Una Bowden (47) and her daughters Ciara (14) and Saoirse (9) suffered fatal injuries in an accident on the N17 earlier this week, when the car they were travelling in was involved in a collision with an articulated lorry.

Raphoe native Una and her family had been living in Moycullen, County Galway for a number of years.

It’s understood that Una had been visiting her father in Raphoe before the tragic accident occurred.

They are survived by Una’s husband, and the girls’ father, David.

Funeral arrangements for Una, Ciara and Saoirse are as follows.

Their remains will be leaving Mayo University Hospital, Castlebar, at 2pm on Monday afternoon.

An open house wake will be taking place from Monday through to Wednesday at the Carlin Farm, Miltown, Raphoe. County Donegal (F93 TH72).

Funeral procession leaving the Carlin house at 11am on Wednesday morning, travelling to St Eunan’s Church, Raphoe for service at 12 noon.

Burial afterwards at the old graveyard, Convoy.
