A young Irish woman has been stabbed to death in a popular New York bar.

The victim has been named as Sarah McNally, 41, from Longford Town.

Ms McNally was killed after being attacked at The Ceili House pub on Grand Avenue in Maspeth, Queens, on Saturday evening at around 6.30pm.

Cops responded to a 911 call and found Ms McNally with a stab wound to her neck and a man with a stab wound to his back and neck.

Both were taken to Elmhurst Hospital in critical condition by EMS with the woman later passing away from her injuries, police said.

No arrests have yet been made as police detectives continue to investigate the incident.

It is understood Ms McNally emigrated to the US a number of years ago and she had been working in the hospitality industry.
