Raphoe woman Una Carlin and her two daughters will be brought home to their beloved Donegal later today for their funerals on Wednesday.

Mrs Carlin-Bowden and her two beautiful daughters Ciara, 14 and Saoirse, 9, died when their car was in collision with a truck on Tuesday last in Co Mayo.

The three were returning home from visiting Una’s father John at his home in Miltown, Raphoe.

Mrs Bowden’s husband and the girls’ father David Bowden had been abroad working with the United Nations when the tragedy happened.

The family have now taken the decision to lay Una and her two girls to rest next to Una’s late mother Mary in a graveyard in the village of Convoy.

A wake for the three will be held from Monday through to Wednesday at the Carlin Farm, Miltown, Raphoe, which hundreds of people are expected to attend.

Una, who was 47, and her young family had been living in Moycullen, County Galway for a number of years.

They had recently renovated an old cottage and had just finished the renovations in recent weeks.

They were a huge part of the local community in Moycullen where they were members of a number of groups including the local basketball club.

The following are the funeral arrangements for Una, Ciara and Saoirse.

Their remains will be leaving Mayo University Hospital, Castlebar, today at 2pm.

An open house wake will be taking place from this evening at 7pm through to Wednesday at the Carlin Farm, Miltown, Raphoe. County Donegal (F93 TH72).

The funeral procession will leave the Carlin house at 11am on Wednesday morning and travel to St Eunan’s Church, Raphoe for service at 12 noon.

The burial will take place afterwards at the old graveyard, Convoy.

May they rest in peace.
