Outrage after Convoy playpark vandalised

A local group has expressed disappointment after a playpark in Convoy was vandalised yesterday.

Images shared by the Convoy Community Environmental Committee show that a bench and its surrounding structure were covered in graffiti slogans.

The group now says that cleaning up this graffiti will now take away funds from other enterprises in the area for young people and families.

“The committee are dissapointed at the recent vandalism that has occured in the community playpark,” they posted on social media.

“The cost to clean it up will take money away from other things that we had planned to do. This is an area used by all the community and shows a blatant disregard for young families that use this facility!”

“CCTV is currently being reviewed and may be forwarded to the Gardaí for further investigation.”
