Clannad icon Moya Brennan is to be celebrated as 2023’s Donegal Person of the Year at a special Gala Ball tonight.

The annual Gala Ball, being held by the Donegal Association in Dublin, celebrates Donegal’s very best – while also providing a very good excuse to get into your finest outfits.

The Bonnington Hotel in Dublin will play host to the ball, where Moya Brennan will officially be inaugurated as 2023’s Donegal Person of the Year after the announcement was made in Creeslough in February.

Speaking at the announcement earlier this year, Moya said she was delighted to be given the honour.

“I am so thrilled to be the 2023 Donegal Person of the Year. To receive such an acknowledgment from my home County is such a huge honour.”

“I know my fans around the world will be delighted as they know how much this means to me. I always talk about my wonderful Donegal when I am abroad.”
