Daniel O’Donnell has paid tribute to his close friend Sally Blake after she was laid to rest today.
Ms Blake, from Ard O’Donnell in Letterkenny, worked tirelessly to promote Letterkenny and Donegal.
Along the way she rubbed shoulders with many of the rich and famous.
And among them was Daniel who expressed sympathy along with wife Majella to Sally’s family today.
The Kincasslagh man was among hundreds who turned out for Sally’s funeral at St Eunan’s Cathdraal.
Daniel even sang at the mass which was officiated over by Monsignor Kevin Gillespie.
The singer said “So sorry to hear of Sally’s death. She travelled the world with us and was always ready to help if there was anything she could do.
“She worked tirelessly for the Romanian Challenge Appeal when we were fundraising for the charity. We send our sincere sympathy to all the Blake family at this sad time.
“Sally we will never forget you. Rest in peace. Love Daniel and Majella.”
Singer Michael English also recalled how Sally was a great help to him when he was starting out on his singing career.
He said “Sally was a great friend and a great support to me particularly in my early days on the road.
“That friendship has remained all these years later and I will miss her warm welcome and the many chats we had on the phone. A lovely lady. Rest in peace Sally.”
