Gardaí in Ballyshannon say they caught two drivers who hadn’t taxed their cars for over two years, after they were stopped for using their phones behind the wheel.
The drivers were caught as part of a Donegal Garda clamp-down on drivers using their phones while driving this week – with 21 drivers penalised in Letterkenny alone yesterday.
One driver who was stopped was then found to have not taxed their vehicle for 954 days – almost three entire years.
Another driver who was nabbed hadn’t paid their car’s tax for a total of 773 days.
Both cars were seized by Gardaí as a result.
