A van driver was arrested in Letterkenny last night after testing positive for cocaine.
They were also found to be driving without a license, insurance, or tax.
Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit made the arrest at a Mandatory Intoxicant Testing (MIT) checkpoint on Sunday.
The van was seized and the driver will face court summonses and Fixed Charge Penalty Notices.
Gardaí also conducted a ‘National Day Of Action’ on Friday to curb the use of mobile phones by drivers.
A total of 21 Fixed Charge Penalty Notices were handed to drivers in Letterkenny on the day for using their mobile phone while driving.
