Letterkenny Gardaí are investigating a theft from a car in the Cullion Road area last weekend.

The incident was reported on Sunday, 14th April, after a resident saw a man at the rear of their property at approximately 2:00 am. The male fled the scene on foot when he realized he had been spotted.

The resident later discovered a bank card had been stolen from their car, which had been unlocked.

A garda spokesperson said: “We appeal to other residents in the area to make contact with us in Letterkenny on 074-9167100 if they observed a male on foot in the area in the early hours of Sunday morning (approx. 2am). If anybody travelled in that area around that time with a dash cam, we ask them to make the footage available to us.

“We would like to remind everybody to please ensure that their vehicle is locked at all times when left unattended whether it is parked at home or in a public place. Do not leave cash or other valuables in it. Keep your keys out of sight and away from windows in your home.”
