Gardaí in Letterkenny are urging motorists to prioritize safety on the roads after catching two drivers breaking the speed limit this morning.
One vehicle was clocked at a dangerous 137 kilometres per hour (kph) in a 100 kph zone, while another driver was caught travelling at 123 kph in the same area.
Both drivers will face a €160 fine and 3 penalty points.
Another driver will be receiving a €120 fine and 3 penalty points for using their mobile phone behind the wheel.
Gardaí are warning motorists to slow down and be mindful of the poor weather: “Weather conditions have been very poor lately and most road surfaces are wet/possibly slippy as a result. We are ALL vulnerable on the roads. Nobody is invincible. Save lives. Slow down. Never use/hold your mobile phone while driving.”
