A talented art student at Loreto Letterkenny has scooped a second place prize of €1,000 in the prestigious Texaco Art Competition.

Weronika Jarosinska, a fifth-year student, won in the 16-18 age category with her captivating artwork titled “Man to Machine”.

The 16-year-old’s striking steampunk-style creation stood out amongst a staggering 25,000 entries submitted nationwide for this year’s competition.

A ceremony was held in Dublin yesterday to honour the winners, where Weronika was joined by her proud mother, Monika, and her supportive art teacher, Ms. Lynnette Rodgers.

The entire Loreto Letterkenny community extends its heartfelt congratulations to Weronika on this exceptional achievement.

“Thank you to Texaco for showcasing Weronika’s work so well and amongst so many other talented young artists,” they said.
