Man seriously injured following Ballybofey assault

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously assaulted in the centre of Ballybofey at the weekend.

The victim was with a group of men on the town’s main street at 1:30am on Sunday morning when he was approached by another group of men. One of them proceeded to attack the man, resulting in him being seriously injured. He was treated for his injuries at Letterkenny University Hospital but was released a short-time later.

Any witnesses, or anyone with dashcam footage, are urged to contact Letterkenny Garda Station on 074-9167100. The Garda Confidential Line may also be contacted on 1800 666 111.
