A Donegal GAA club has been left outraged after its new car park was destroyed by vandals.

Red Hughs GAA Club in Killygordon spent a considerable amount of money recently resurfacing the car park at their ground at Monellan.

However, on Wednesday night at around 10pm a number of drivers entered the car park and “tore it up” by doing donuts in their cars.

Considerable damage was caused or the car park as can be scene in the pictures contained.

A spokesperson for the club said they are outraged by the vandalism.

The spokesperson said “At 10.10pm on Wednesday night a vehicle entered our newly resurfaced carpark and tore up the new surface by attempting to do some donuts.

“We have spent a lot of money that you the community have donated through our Weekly 50/50 draws and Red Level Members Draw & our loyal Bingo Supporters on this major development.

“We are appealing to everyone please respect our grounds and refrain from this type of behaviour.

“The Red Hughs GAA club is open to all members of our community and we are trying our best to provide the children and adults with a top class facility.”

Those responsible for the damage could well now find themselves under investigation by Gardai.

The premises are monitored by CCTV and the club has passed on the relevant information to An Garda Siochana.
