Shandon Hotel and Spa General Manager Carolynne Murray has been short-listed for the title of Hotel General Manager of the Year in the 6th Irish Hospitality Awards.
The Shandon has also been shortlisted for Spa Hotel of the Year.
Carolynne, who is also a director of the four star Shandon Hotel, has been at the helm of a multi-million transformation of the property since it reopened its doors under new ownership in 2016.
With an initial recruitment drive of 55 new staff, the hotel quickly established itself as a success story in the Donegal region. Since then, the Shandon has undergone significant investment and grown its workforce to 140 employees, solidifying its position as a jewel of north Donegal.
Team Shandon is also celebrating a prestigious ranking in the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards this year. The hotel secured 17th place in a list of the Best Hotels in Ireland, placing it within the top 1% of all establishments in the country.

TripAdvisor is the world’s largest travel guidance platform, it analyzes 12 months of review data for over 1.6 million hotels to create the Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best Hotels Awards!,” Carolynne said.
