A massive €9,000 has been raised for a children’s charity following last month’s 5k fun run and walk in memory of the late Tomás Mullan.

The money will go towards the Children in Crossfire charity, while also marking what would have been Tomás’ 18th birthday, and supporting his amazing mum Geraldine.

On 20th August 2020, dad John (49) and children Tomás (14) and Amelia (6) Mullan lost their lives in a tragic road accident at Quigley’s Point between Derry and Moville. Geraldine was the sole survivor.

The event was held at the Mullan Hope Centre and raised a total of £7,782.52 (€9,031.54) in Tomás’ honour.

Geraldine handed over the cheque to a grateful Richard Moore of the Children in Crossfire charity.

“We are so deeply grateful to Geraldine Mullan for her support,” he said this week.

“The 5k walk/run in Moville was a huge success, raising £7,782.52 (€9,031.54) – and that’s all down to the high regard in which Geraldine is held. This event did her beloved Tomás very proud, and we are very proud to have been part of it.”
