The Abbey Singers from Donegal Town, Donegal ETB Adult Choir and the Colmcille Community Choir join voices with two leading Dublin choirs for a ‘Festival of Song Day in Donegal today.

The choirs will come together culminating with a performance in Ards Friary today (SAT) at 5pm.

From Gartan to Ards they will grace us with the uplifting ‘May it be’ by Enya.

Hymns and Madrigals follow, including Margaret McAteer’s setting of St Colmcille’s words ‘Alone with none but Thee’..

Why not come along and gift yourself this most beautiful of days. Performances start at Gartan Lough at 11am and continue in Glenveagh at 1pm.

You can join one or all of the events. Perhaps you might like to follow the trail and who knows, by the time you get to Ards Friary you may be singing with the choirs! Now wouldn’t that be something!

The top class Dublin Choirs are DCU’s Schola Cantorum, led by Dr Seán Doherty and Dolce is led by Deirdre Ní Chaomhánaigh.

The talented Donegal Choirs are guided by the batons of Eileen Carr and Margaret McAteer.

These 5 choirs are covering their own costs so entry to all the events are free so please spread the word!
