A Donegal designer is part of the team hoping to break Ireland’s Eurovision curse this weekend.

As the unique Bambie Thug takes the stage for the Final tonight in Malmo, Sweden, their costume is sure to strike a chord across Europe, thanks to fashion designer Mariusz Malon.

Originally from Buncrana, Mariusz has made a name for himself as a top designer in the UK and worldwide after studying in Derry and Manchester.

His design style is a perfect fit for Bambie Thug’s gothic vibes, as proven in their spectacular semi-final performance of Doomsday Blues in which they became the first Irish act to qualify for a final since 2018.

Their semi-final outfit saw a striking black outfit switch into a wonderful design with the colours of the transgender pride flag underneath, celebrating Bambie Thug’s non-binary identity.

They are now also one of the favourites to win Eurovision overall, with the alt and metal inspired Doomsday Blues as well as the dramatic performance accompanying it making it a fan favourite.

All of us here can’t wait to see what outfit Mariuz has crafted for Bambie in tonight’s final.

You can watch Bambie Thug’s semi-final performance, along with their fantastic fit, here:
