A powerful wellness and community event returns to Letterkenny this May with the second annual ‘Self Care Wellness Fair’.

The free fundraising fair takes place at the Silver Tassie Hotel on Sunday, May 26th, from 1 pm to 4 pm.

This year’s event takes on a deeper significance as it raises funds for Olivia Robb, a popular Newtowncunningham woman who was recently diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

Letterkenny woman Claire Coughlan, who studied mindfulness and meditation, is the driving force behind this initiative.

Claire is also a visual merchandiser at Penneys Letterkenny and has dedicated this year’s event to supporting her colleague, Olivia.

With a growing expertise in holistic wellness, Claire designed the event to address a critical need in the community.

A diverse range of over 30 local businesses will be on display, sharing the resources readily available within Donegal to combat anxiety, depression, disconnection, and general mental health struggles.

In a format similar to a wedding fair, guests can meet and sample the work of local mindfulness and mental health practitioners, nutritionists, fitness professionals and alternative therapy providers.

Self Care Wellness Fair returns to the Silver Tassie on 26th May

Among the speakers will be:

  • Lucille Cassidy Retreats talking about the power of being in the present moment and allowing yourself to be still.
  • Taina at Layered Release will be discussing all things Reiki healing, holistic practices, and toxic swap outs. She will discuss Reiki and its benefits in calming the nervous system.
  • Mary Bradley Wellbeing will be discussing mindfulness and meditation for teenagers.
  • Dr. Tina Toosky: Food for Mood, stress and mood management through diet/nutrition and how what we eat and when we eat affects our mental health.
  • Mark O’Sullivan, Homeopath, will give us an introduction to homeopathy and discuss useful everyday remedies.
  • Roxane Mullen, Psychotherapist, will be discussing facing life’s challenges with self-compassion and how to deal with them in a healthy way and how we can be kinder to ourselves.
  • Suzanne O’Donnell from Faith and Feathers, a mentor, healer, and speaker, will be discussing choosing faith even when there’s fear.

There is still room for more businesses if you are interested, you’ll find Claire on Instagram at @selfcare__withclaire

The first ‘Self Care with Claire’ event in 2023 raised €1500 for Jigsaw Ireland.

This year a raffle with exciting prizes donated by participating businesses will be a highlight of the event, all supporting Olivia and her family.

All are welcome, admission is free and donations will be gratefully accepted.
