An environmentally friendly and health-enhancing business in Inishowen is one of the finalists in the National Enterprise Awards on 23rd May.

Living Green in Quigley’s Point provides certified organic compost, organic wormcast, wheatgrass products, and frozen health shots.

It is the largest producer of worms in Ireland and the UK, distributing live worms to tackle shops and smaller wholesalers in Ireland.

Promoting sustainable living and well-being, they supply nationwide and export to the UK.

Living Green was the overall county winner, and the winner of the Best-Established Enterprise Award at the  Donegal Enterprise Awards in December.

This year’s National Enterprise Awards, announced today, will see 31 companies from across the country competing for the top prize on the 23rd May.

Finalists cover a range of sectors and industries from transformational digitization software (DreamDev Technologies) and reduced mobility booking systems (PRM Assist) to luxury handmade chocolates (Grá Chocolates) and hand crafted natural soap (The Black Stuff).

The Finalists compete for a prize fund of €50,000 and along with an overall National Enterprise of the Year winner there are categories for Best Start-Up, Best Export Business, an Innovation Award, a One-to-Watch Award, and a Sustainability Award. There is also an Outstanding Achievement award for a business that started with their Local Enterprise Office and has gone on to achieve international growth with the assistance of Enterprise Ireland.
