Watch: Killybegs students challenge dangerous driving decisions in powerful video

A group of Donegal students are taking a stand against dangerous driving offences with a powerful new video campaign.

Concerned about the rising number of road fatalities in Ireland, Transition Year students from St. Catherine’s in Killybegs, designed a hard-hitting TV ad aimed at curbing dangerous behaviour behind the wheel.

The video targets the false confidence some drivers exhibit when they make risky choices on the road. This puts not only themselves but also their passengers and other road users at significant risk.

Created as part of the Road Safety Authority’s (RSA) “Your Road to Safety” programme, the video is the culmination of the students’ efforts to raise awareness about road safety.

This initiative aims to equip Transition Year students with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to become responsible and safe road users, preparing them for the future of getting behind the wheel.

The project was led by teachers Ms Caroline Gallagher and Mr Niall Canning.
