Gardaí attending scene of incident at Buncrana Pier

Gardaí are currently at the scene of an incident at Buncrana Pier this morning, after it is understood a car may have gone into the water overnight.

In a statement, Gardaí said they were at the scene of an incident at the pier currently, but as it was an ongoing operation they were not releasing any further details.

Donegal Daily understands that a car may have gone off the pier and entered the water at some point overnight.

UPDATE: A man in his 80s has been found dead after a car was recovered from the water at the pier this morning. Read more here.
