Relay for Life Donegal are thrilled that the one and only Daniel O’Donnell will be performing live on the main stage at the ATU, Letterkenny Campus as part of the upcoming Relay weekend.
Daniel will be performing on Sunday26th May from approximately 1:30 to 3:00 pm.
Whether you’re a longtime fan or just love good music, this is a performance you won’t want to miss. Everyone is welcome.
Entry is free but if you can, please consider making a donation to support this fantastic cause. All funds raised at Relay for Life Donegal go to the Irish Cancer Society.
Daniel as a joint patron of the event alongside his wife Majella O’Donnell, who is a Global Hero of Hope for Relay For Life Donegal.
Daniel is inviting everyone to show their support in numbers.
“Your presence is important to give a boost to those who need it. And those that can give, will give a donation, it’s all going to a wonderful cause, it’s helping people now and in the future. Without research, there are so many people who wouldn’t be alive today. With research, there will be a lot of people in the future who will survive,” he said.
If you’re also free on Saturday, Relay for Life will be kicking off at 4:00 pm with the opening ceremony, survivors lap, carers lap, and then the opening team lap. It’s a wonderful way to honour those affected by cancer and show support.
The day will be filled with music and activities, and will conclude with our beautiful Luminaria Ceremony. This touching ceremony features candle bags displayed around the track in memory of those we’ve lost to cancer and in celebration of those who are still with us.
Although the official activities will finish after the Luminaria Ceremony, the fun does not end there. Relay for Life Donegal teams will continue their walking through the night so there will be music at the side of the track and more games and activities happening throughout the night.
The Sunday fun starts early with a Gospel Hour and Ecumenical Service in the morning, perfect for a peaceful start to your Sunday. Then, get your groove on at the family disco from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm before Daniel performs in the afternoon – it’s going to be a blast for kids and adults alike! This will lead us up to our closing ceremony and final lap at 4pm
While you’re enjoying the music and activities, be sure to wander around the gazebos. The amazing teams will be fundraising with all sorts of creative and fun activities. From bake sales to games, there’s something for everyone, and it’s all for a great cause.
So, mark your calendars and bring your family and friends for a day full of music, dancing, and community spirit at Relay for Life Donegal. Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th of May from 4pm – 4pm at the ATU, Letterkenny Campus.
Relay for Life Donegal has raised a staggering €1,675,000 for the Irish Cancer Society since it began in 2011.
See you there!
