The Bundoran RNLI lifeboat was in action this afternoon, after a man got into difficulty in the water.
It’s understood the lifeboat was tasked to Mullaghmore -just across the border between Donegal and Sligo – this afternoon when a man fell off a boat and was struggling in the water.
The Rescue 118 helicopter was also tasked to the scene after the alarm was raised by one of the people on the boat.
However as the lifeboat arrived, passersby were able to assist the man to safety and onto land.
Bundoran RNLI were able to treat the casualty at the scene using first aid, before he was transferred to hospital by road for further treatment.
