Deele College Raphoe’s best and brightest were celebrated at their annual prizegiving ceremony this week.

Ireland international footballer and former school Head Girl Tyler Toland was welcomed back to congratulate the winning students and give them their prizes.

Having left Deele just a few years ago, after herself winning Overall Student of the Year and the Overall Sports Star Award, Tyler gave an inspiring talk to students about her own journey and road to playing for Ireland.

When asked for advice that she would offer to students, she said that students should strive “to be themselves, to aim high and work through whatever obstacles they may find in their paths.”

A new award was also created in honour of the late Eoin Brogan, who passed away last year after a battle with illness.

The Brogan family donated and presented the Eoin Brogan Award for Empathy to Farrah Crossan, in recognition of her kindness, consideration and Empathy towards Eoin and the school community.
