Gardai have launched an investigation after a woman and two children were injured after they were involved in a collision with a van in Dungloe yesterday.

The incident happened just off the town’s Main Street when a van appeared to lose control and struck a wall.

A number of people were caught up in the incident.

Gardai immediately sealed off the road between Greene’s Corner and and the town’s Main Street as diversions were put in place.

Local reports say a woman and two children were taken by ambulance to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment.

However, their injuries are not understood to be life-threatening.

Garda forensic examiners were on the scene and have carried out a full examination.

A small white van was loaded onto a truck and taken away for examination.

Donegal Daily has contacted Gardai for an update on the situation.
