Gardaí have arrested a teenager and seized more than €5,000 of controlled drugs following a search operation in the Twin Towns at the weekend.
The haul was discovered on Friday morning after warrants were executed at two premises in the Stranorlar and Ballybofey areas.
A quantity of drugs including suspected cannabis, cocaine, tablets and ‘magic’ mushrooms were seized by Gardaí in the course of the operation. All of the drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for further analysis.
“An adult male in his late teens was arrested at the scene and detained at a Garda station in Donegal under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984,” a garda spokesperson said.
“He has since been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions. Investigations are ongoing.”
