In 2022 Johnny McGuinness was honoured to be co-opted to Donegal County Council, filling the seat left vacant following the sad passing of his late father, Bernard.
Cllr McGuinness has been immensely proud to carry on Bernard’s legacy of serving the people of Inishowen.
As he seeks re-election in the Carndonagh municipal district this June, he wants to continue working hard for north Inishowen to ensure further development of local services and amenities.

I have attended protests and delegations, sponsored transport and spoken as a representative of MAG and 100% Redress in front of members of the Oireachtas. I am currently lobbying for a Taoiseach-led response to what can only be described as a humanitarian emergency.
