A man aged in his 30s after being hit by a car in the early hours of this morning.
Gardaí say the male pedestrian was struck at approximately 4am, on the N18 at Portdrine, County Clare.
He was transferred to University Hospital Limerick, where he later died from his injuries.
Gardaí are carrying out a forensic examination of the scene, with a post mortem of the man’s remains to be carried out in due course.
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
