Gardaí in Castlefin are appealing for information in relation to a number of incidents of assault and criminal damage that occurred last week.

An elderly man was ‘badly assaulted’ during a ‘dangerous incident’ which took place in the Hillhead area of Castlefin last Wednesday, May 19, before 9.30pm.

Garda Niall Maguire said they ‘have a suspect’ but appealed for witnesses to come forward.

“We appeal to anybody who may have travelled in the area of Hillhead, or within Castlefin itself, between 9.15pm and 9.45pm with a dash cam to make contact with Gardaí in Letterkenny on 0749167100,” he said.

The Garda Confidential line may be reached on 1800 666 111.
