ERNACT was established in 1991 to stimulate cross-border digital transformation cooperation in the Northwest cross-border area. This is primarily achieved by actively engaging with other European regional and local governments through EU territorial, innovation and research programmes.

ERNACT is currently managing approximately €24 million in EU disruptive technology project funding on behalf of its member regions and European public sector partners from its European secretariat headquarters on the campus of Atlantic Technological University (ATU) in Letterkenny (Ireland).

ERNACT is now seeking to recruit a dynamic, creative, and adaptable Communications professional for a 3-year fixed-term contract. The Communications Officer will work with peers in a knowledge-based team environment and collaborate with ERNACT’s core stakeholders across Europe, including local and regional governments, technology partners and the European Commission.

THE ROLE

The Communications Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing communication plans and engaging stakeholders for European-funded projects and ERNACT’s EU network. This includes both current and future projects across various sectors within the disruptive technology domain. The successful candidate will ensure the projects aims, objectives and impacts are effectively communicated through social media, websites, newsletters, press releases, speeches, storyboards, presentations, events and other communication channels.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be educated to honours or master’s degree in marketing, journalism, digital communications, or a related discipline.
  • Have at least 2 years post-graduation work experience in communications, press office, public relations, or a related field.
  • Be fluent in written and spoken English with effective presentation skills.
  • Have a proven track record in delivering digital marketing campaigns and communication strategies.
  • Have proven experience in content creation, media relations and writing press releases.
  • Have experience using MS Office, newsletter platforms, and web analytics.
  • Have excellent communication skills and a strong professional manner in engaging with the public and colleagues.
