Newcomer Martin Scanlon is overjoyed with his performance in the Lifford-Stranorlar area, finishing out in front in the tally.

“I want to thank the people of the Finn Valley for coming out and supporting me,” Scanlon tells Donegal Daily at the sorting centre tonight.

“We picked votes all around, not just Glenfin and Ballybofey, all over the municipal area, it’s amazing.”
