The final four seats are still up for grabs in the Glenties LEA after five counts.

Labour’s Jimmy Duffy, Fianna Fail’s Anne Marie Rodgers and Aontu’s Michael Harkin have been eliminated in the last three counts.

After Jimmy Duffy’s 308 and Anne Marie Rodgers’ 397 votes were distributed, Fianna Fail’s Anthony Molloy (FF) remains in a strong position to seal the third seat on 1,500 votes – 383 short of the 1,883 quota.

Behind Molloy, the last three seats are anyone’s game, with Denis McGee of the 100% Redress Party on 1,088 now in fourth position, closely followed by Sinn Fein’s John Sheamais O Fearraigh on 1,068 and Brian Carr on 1,052 votes.

The other candidates still in the race are Kellie Rodgers of Sinn Fein on 942 votes, and Independent Jonathan Stewart on 876 votes.
